Write for us
Select Racing Journal welcomes pitches that help readers understand horse racing through its objects, language, places, formats or customs. Send proposals through the Contact page rather than submitting a finished article without an invitation.
What we welcome
Pitch clear, evergreen explanations, comparisons, histories and thoughtful guides to a race-day detail. A good proposal has a defined reader question, a narrow subject and a reason it matters beyond a single result or news cycle.
What to include
In a short pitch, describe the central idea, the intended reader, the main points you would cover and the sources or expertise you would draw on. Disclose any relevant commercial interest. Do not send confidential, private or unverified material.
Our editorial fit
We value precise language, careful distinctions and a calm, reader-first voice. We do not seek betting tips, predictions, unsupported claims or material that depends on presenting professional advice as general guidance.
How to propose
Use the Contact page, choose the editorial question option and include your pitch in the message. A proposal is not a guarantee of publication; any commissioning details can be discussed if there is a fit.
The details are part of the race
Select Racing Journal looks beyond the finish to the words, places and customs that make racing legible and memorable.
